Our Universe Church

Words written for the engagement celebrations of Russ Deleon & Yoshimi Anderson.

Read out in the chapel at Sabine, Ibiza - Friday 3rd September 2021.

Es Vedrà is a legendary rock off the coast of Ibiza. The two, from their first date, took many trips there falling more and more in love with both each other and the magical ediface that witnessed so much of their story.

We, two Leos, two star-matched lovers intertwined,
You a Deleon, a lion of lions, a lion heart’s defined,
And I, soon to be a Yoshimi The Lion reality
Two lovers’ stars bound in perfect symmetry.

And intertwined we are, 
Upon that sunset deck, as Rocket gently rocks back and forth,
Es Vedrà before us, our Universe Church and our true North.

It is our spiritual home where we come to rest,
Our cherished place of nourishment and nest,
Our infinite source of energy, love and life,
A place of unity for a soul husband and wife,
It holds so much radiance, wonder and awe,
Our interstellar love story and much more.

Upon that sunset deck, staring up at that radiant rock,
We pause the wheels of time, halting the clock,
We settle in, giddy for the start of our favourite show
We drink in the dazzling skies of past, present and tomorrow,
We bask in the bright and brilliant constellations of our forever,
We marvel the moons of magical memories that will never weather,
We count the blessings of every sighted shooting star
We squeeze each other tight knowing this is all ours.

A whole universe just for us,
How lucky I am to have found my Russ.

Oh Es Vedrà,
This sacred realm, 
This colossus of mystique 
This earth of majesty,
This golden castle, 
This eternal fountain,
This hallowed land of light,
This precious stone pressed into Balearic blue bliss,
This sanctuary of sirens whose songs never missed,
This hearth of heart,
This isle of wonder, 
This seat of Lions, 
This throne of Leons,
Love’s eternal perch,
Our rock,
Our home,
Our Universe Church.
